To be able to use many of these tools with your Kindle Book, you must be enrolled in KDP select.

5 Day Free

This is a great way to get lots of exposure for your books, especially if you have lead magnets to free things within your book. You cannot have affiliate links in your books on Amazon. Unless it is for your own books or keeping people on Amazon. Always check the terms and conditions about affiliate links when posting on Amazon as the rules change constantly.

Marketing Tip: I love to use the 5 day free Kindle book strategy to get people interested in book series. I also use the 99 cent strategy as it works just as well. Give one book away for free, with links to all your other books inside the front of the book plus at the back. When people get your free book, they usually continue to purchase your other books too.

This is another very popular strategy for authors. However, you must have your Kindle book in KDP Select to be able to use this feature.

• Choose your original price point. The higher the better. Keep under $9.99 to get 70% of the commission.
• Choose how many days you are going to do your incremental countdown and what your beginning price will be.
• If wanting 70% of the commission you must start at $2.99 lowest price.
• Your book will start at the lowest price and incrementally go up every day till the promotion is over.

You can pre-sell your Kindle book in advance. This is a very popular strategy if you are wanting to do list building and trying to get lots of sales up front. You can even get a #1 Best Seller with the pre-sell strategy.

• Choose a date you want to launch your eBook
• Make sure that you have your eBook already to go live on that day
• Promote the eBook out on social media and people can buy it.
• Have a place where they can opt-in for early bird bonuses while they are waiting for your book release [list builder]
• Have another one of your books on the thank you page that they can purchase [or a course] while they wait for your new book [upsell]
• When your book date arrives, everyone will receive a link from Amazon for their book.

• Put links to your free gifts and lead magnets to grow your list;
• Put links to your other books, they may buy more than one;
• Put links to your social media profiles, so they can build a relationship with you;
